Hale Vietnam Restaurant

Hale Vietnam Restaurant

A favorite Vietnamese eatery for HKA96815, very close to Waikiki and there is lots of parking in Kaimuki. The prices are reasonable, the service is great and the atmosphere is comfortable. Very good!

Ethel's Grill - "homestyle Asian eats in a low-key space."

 Tataki Sashimi (lightly seared sashimi)

Ethel's Grill
232 Kalihi Street
(808) 847-6467
5:30am - 2pm

The food is 'ono and comes out fresh, fast and hot. The price is really hard to beat for what you are getting at about $7. You can get the Sumo Size for an additional $2.50. The plate comes with a small salad and a bowl of hot miso soup. The photo above is a side of the Tataki Sashimi that sells for $6. There is no parking and the service and atmosphere are unremarkable. There is always a small crowd waiting to get in. Ethel's Grill is open for business Monday thru Saturday from 5:30am to 2pm. Ethel's Grill is a cash only business and very informal. This is one of the best hole in the wall lunch shops on O'ahu and has been serving great home style food for decades. You really cant go wrong at Ethel's Grill.

KAIWA - TEPPAN & SUSHI

KAIWA - TEPPAN & SUSHI

When translating KAIWA, there are many interpretations possible, all of which are incorporated in our concept of a dining experience to engage the senses.
KAI, by itself, means “oceans” and WA can mean “Japan” and “circle.”
KAIWA means “conversation”, as well as “harmony,” “balance” and “symphony.”
KAIWA is an endless circle of integration and inspiration. We achieve balance and harmony, though modern interpretations of classic cuisine, as well as novel and innovative approaches toward ambiance and style. We are a meeting of minds from across many oceans. The conversation between East and West, traditional and contemporary, Japan and Hawaii, the active and still, is a symphony to engage the senses.
